Meet Our Physical Therapists:

Matthew Madrid, MSPT

Matt was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine at Alderson-Broaddus College in May, 1997. He then continued his education at Wheeling Jesuit University, where he was voted Vice President of his class and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in December, 1999. Matt has worked in both hospital and outpatient settings over the years, gaining experience to become the facility director of two physical therapy clinics, and since July of 2011, owner/partner of Affiliated Physical Therapy in Nutter Fort, WV.

Matt is a certified clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. His current clinical teaching duties include: Marshall University, Wheeling Jesuit University, & WVU Physical Therapy Programs; Pierpont Community College & New River Community College Physical Therapist Assistant Programs. He is a guest lecturer for the Exercise Science Program at Alderson-Broaddus University, and adjunct instructor for Pierpont Community & Technical College. Matt was recently awarded a Rural Clinical Teaching Award - Greater Than 2500 Hours by the West Virginia University Institute for Community & Rural Health.

Matt's volunteer member duties include: Advisory board member for Pierpont Community & Technical College PTA Program, Alumni Council for Alderson Broaddus & Wheeling Jesuit University. His current organizations include the American Physical Therapy Association Orthopedic Section, and STOP (Sports Trauma and Overuse Prevention) Sports Injuries Campaign. He is currently a member of the executive board (treasurer) for the West Virginia Physical Therapy Association. Matt resides just outside of Clarksburg with his wife Tina, oldest daughter Jenna, and twin girls Kinsey & Kira.

Andrew Spatafore, MSPT

Andrew was born in Clarksburg, WV. He attended Notre Dame High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1998. He continued his education at Widener University in Chester, PA, where he received his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in May of 2002 and became certified by the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy that July. Andrew then returned home where he began his physical therapy career at Affiliated Physical Therapy Services, Inc. in 2002 where he worked for 9 years. In 2011, he and Matt Madrid formed Affiliated Physical Therapy, LLC, at the same location in Nutter Fort, WV, where he has continued to practice. Andrew has worked in private practice outpatient orthopedic setting throughout his 17 years in practice. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Andrew has and continues to attend various continuing education courses that focus on enhancing manual therapy/diagnostic skills, which allow him to bring back techniques/treatments that can be immediately utilized in the clinic to better serve his clients. Andrew resides in Bridgeport, WV, with his wife Sarah and two children Ella and Josie. He is also a member of All Saints Church and the Sons of Italy.
